It's quite the irony to see the plastered faces of the "4 million smiles" of Singaporeans welcoming the WB/IMF delegates... in empty closed off roads and streets. In another news clip, indoor demonstrations/protests require us to register our names. Stifling indeed.
But hey, security is important and the law's to be respected. But seriously, if the ban on street protests were really lifted, will we care? Will we go out and hold banners and shout slogans? Will Singaporeans stop traffic to voice their grieviance? I think majority will not, for self-security, for survival, for fear of retaliation. For we've been ingrained to prioritise economic development above all unfortunately. How long does it take for us to mature out of this narrow road?
Peace! 9月7日 Better Late than Never!OK, OK. So I jumped on this blogging bandwagon really really late. Kind of skeptical about it in the beginning, wondering why the heck would people wanna pour out their thoughts for everyone else to read. Is there nothing kept personal these days??
But there's no fighting it! Succumbed to the wave of times... I'm a blogging virgin no more! Just like everyone else, Zaf's blog will have whatever she fancies :) Hopefully, most of the time, it'll have some benefit to everyone reading. Peace! |
